How the Australian Book Industry can get behind ILP
There are many ways that you can help make this campaign a success.
Here are some ideas to get you started
-
If you are a bookshop, support the campaign by giving 5% or more of your
instore sales on Indigenous Literacy Day (Wednesday 1 September 2010). More marketing ideas for
participating bookshops.
-
If you are a publisher or supplier, give a dollar or percentage of invoiced
sales on that day.
- Ask for gold coin donations at bookshop events, publisher events, staff meetings
or conferences.
-
Encourage your customers and bookclubs to participate in the
The Great Book Swap.
-
Spread the word by incorporating information about the campaign (along with an
opportunity to make a donation) at industry conferences and trade shows, in
presentations to clients, at schools and libraries.
-
Demonstrate your support to others by including campaign messages on your sales
receipts, invoices and in mail outs or putting a link to this site on your
website.
-
Use the campaign as a team building and fundraising opportunity within your
workplace.
-
Find out more about Indigenous literacy and promote discussion with your
friends, family and colleagues.
Please let us know what you are planning to do to support this important
initiative. The Indigenous Literacy Project would like to help generate
local support if we can. You are welcome to use the online contact form
or send an email to ILP Manager
Karen Williams.
